System Requirements

  • iPhone XS or later (multi-camera capture requires Apple's MultiCam capability)
  • iOS 16.0 or later
  • iPad Pro models with multi-camera support

Older iPhones (8, X, and earlier) cannot record from multiple cameras at the same time because of a hardware limitation, not a software one. SplitLens will detect this on launch and let you know.

Capture Modes

  • PIP (Picture-in-Picture): Front camera floats over the rear camera feed.
  • Split Screen: Front and rear cameras side-by-side or top/bottom.
  • Portrait + Landscape: Two cameras with independent orientation, ideal for interview-style shots.
  • Single camera: Standard front or rear capture.

Subscription & Trial

SplitLens Premium comes in three tiers: Monthly ($4.99/mo), Annual ($49.99/yr), or a one-time Lifetime unlock ($449.99). Monthly and Annual are currently 50% off for a limited time (Summer Special). The subscription plans include a 3-day free trial. Premium unlocks all capture modes, 4K recording, and removes the watermark.

How do I start the free trial?

Tap the gear icon in the top-right of the camera screen, then tap "Start Free Trial." You'll be charged for the plan you selected ($4.99/mo or $49.99/yr) after 3 days unless you cancel. Lifetime is a one-time purchase with no trial or renewal.

How do I cancel?

On your iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → SplitLens Premium → Cancel Subscription. You can cancel anytime during the trial without being charged.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Sign in with the same Apple ID, open SplitLens, tap the gear icon, then tap Restore Purchase.

Permissions

SplitLens asks for three permissions, all required for the app to work:

  • Camera — to record video.
  • Microphone — to record audio.
  • Photos — to save your finished recordings to your library.

We never read existing photos or videos from your library. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Troubleshooting

The app says my device isn't supported

Multi-camera capture requires an iPhone XS or newer. If you're on a supported device and still see this, force-quit the app and reopen it.

Recording stopped mid-take

iOS will pause recording if the device overheats, runs out of storage, or another app requests the camera. Free up storage and let the device cool down before retrying.

Watermark still showing after subscribing

Open the gear menu and tap Restore Purchase. If it still appears, confirm your Apple ID matches the one used for the purchase.
